Pros and cons of English for Kids app for iPhone and iPad

English for Kids app good for

Really effective way to learn new vocabulary. Is there a more advanced version??
Liked this app a lot. Is there another version in the series. Would be willing to pay for another so that my son keeps learning. Thanks!
A very nice tool for learning English. I am enjoying it with my 4-year-old kid. The only issue is that the number of lessons and levels available is limited. I am looking forward to more lessons and levels. Thanks!!!
good idea, good implementation. but, too few words. add up to 2500+ words and it will be the most interesting app for kids in AppStore. if you add up to 4000+ words you could even make it paid :)
In my opinion the app is really great! Add more words and make it paid! Many thanks anyway!
Nice app! Please add more words and tasks then it would be really great! My kid is lyk a lit! Lookin forward for updates;)

Some bad moments

Im sure this app is meant for foreign language speakers, but I use this application with my five year old, who is hearing impaired. He loves it because he can go over words as many times as he needs iwhtout getting embarrassed. He also really likes the pictures, thanks so much for this app, keep up the good work! He isnt patient enough to listen to me but he seems kind of addicted to this game, I think he learned a lot of his numbers 7,8,9,10 from this app.
I wish I had this tool when I was first learning English in China! Back then, we had to memorize all words the hard way, no visual or audio tools like this. The multiple-choice style of this tool also made learning fun and engaging. Even today, after being abroad for many years, I still find it helpful in correcting me with the pronunciations! 这些日常用语的图片不仅对孩子们有用,可能就连第一次要出国的大人们也会喜欢,比如机场和餐馆用语等。
Love the idea but it doesnt seem to work. Everytime I try to tap on one of the sections to begin it takes me out of the app back to my home screen.
The words are spoken clearly by native speakers of English. The pictures are attractive, the vocabulary appropriate and the sound for an incorrect choice is a softer buzz, it lets the user know he is wrong, but it is not overly annoying. The user can continue pressing until he finds the right answer, so he can learn through trial and error instead of getting just one guess in before the answer is revealed. My own children like it, but also I think it will be useful for some of my students with special needs/speech therapy students as well. One suggestion- the body pictures could be done better- the "head" shot could be "face", for example, maybe zoomed in a bit more, and then another head shot with the face turned away could be used for "head". Also it is a bit strange that the "hand" picture has eyes in it, and that the "body" picture focuses on a stomach with a face drawn on it. Maybe replace those in an update. Still, it is of higher quality than many of the competing paid apps out there, and I wasnt surprised to see an ESL teacher and SLP collaborating on this, well done!
Kids will surely love this as they learn right from the beginning. Great app!
I use this with my daughter, who has autism. She loves it!! Pictures & Voices are clear.
